Segreto Secrets: Organization Challenge

In: Interior Design

It’s officially March, which means Spring is right around the corner.  As spring approaches, we typically look forward to the blooming of Houston’s beautiful Azaleas, taking a stroll through Bayou Bend or fitting in that afternoon at the Menil or Museum of Fine Arts with a good friend.  However, this year, we are instead reminded of the dreaded “spring cleaning” in our own homes. When on earth will we have time for that?

Clearing out the clutter that has collected in our homes during the winter and organizing for spring sounds like a great way to start the season. But it is always the easiest job to push aside.

Spring Cleaning Goals[Source, Left Image]

With the help of Squared Away, Sarah has taken on the task of organizing her pantry and she could not be more pleased with the outcome. Before it was hard to move around the tight space with all of the items gathered on the floor. It was difficult to see what was needed for the next grocery shopping trip with rows and rows of cans and containers hiding what was actually there. Items that were used most often, weren’t most accessible. Like all small areas, in a pantry you have to make sure you are making the most of every inch of available space.

Pantry Before

Pantry BeforeSquared Away starts with two basic goals: to force you to get rid of the things that you don’t use and to make an organized space for the things you do.

The new pantry makes it easy to see what you have and what you are missing, making grocery shopping more efficient. You can also see the assortment of vases once you have eliminated the ones that will likely never be used. Relocating the brooms and cleaning supplies allowed space for more shelves and better storage. Moving those items to a different area of the house designates the pantry for food and kitchen items only. Now, this room is stress-free, leaving Sarah completely satisfied and able to cross this off of her to-do list!

We want to thank Segreto Secrets for including us in their “Organization Challenge” and hope you will check out the other blogger participants’ organized spaces and ideas.
