Fall Table Inspiration

As soon as the temperature drops even slightly in Houston, we know it is time to get out the warm colored linens, festive fall tableware, seasonal plants, gourds, and pumpkins!  This year we enjoyed having the opportunity to design a client’s Thanksgiving table for a Luxe Life feature with Houston Chronicle Design Editor Diane Cowen.

Our clients frequently host large gatherings at their family farm just outside of Houston, and this Thanksgiving will be no exception. We designed custom zinc and iron dining tables that can be ganged together in multiple configurations with Janus et Cie chairs, all of which can be used indoors or out. Even though they have a wonderful new indoor space for entertaining, we decided to set this table for 28 guests on the lawn.

Pumpkins in various colors and sizes give interest to the tablescape, while fresh arrangements in horn vases give height to the design. The burlap runners, place settings and alpaca throws add layers and texture. Kuhl-Linscomb graciously allowed us to borrow many of the accessories for this holiday table. Look for the Luxe Life feature in your Sunday, November 19th Houston Chronicle!

The photo above shows the dining room of another client’s ranch house with a great fall tablescape using their everyday tableware and accessories.

These beautiful plaid wool runners create a great base for the design of this tablescape we styled for a friend’s ranch featured in Southern Home Magazine. Casual elements combined with formal silverware, china, and glasses offer an unexpected mix and you can never go wrong with napkins appliqued with custom monograms. Hearty rosemary plants and succulents are certain to last longer than fresh flowers for a South Texas holiday!

Thanksgiving will be here before we know it and we enjoy nothing more than entertaining family and friends for the holidays. We are thankful for the many opportunities we have had over the years and our many friends and blessings. Wishing you all the joys of the upcoming holidays and a wealth of inspiration for your festive fall tables!

  1. These are all beautiful tablescapes. We lived in Killeen, Texas for three years, so I’ve had the pleasure of being able to eat outside at Thanksgiving!
